Hole 1
PAR 5 • 653 YDS
The first hole cascades down the hill, playing toward beautiful views of Mt. Evans. Great first holes tell you something about the course you’re about to experience, and this one does that. You have options here, interesting natural features and vistas. Right out of the box, the roll and slope of the fairway lets you know that this course Plays the Ground as it is.

Hole 2
PAR 3 • 154 YDS
This is a little par 3 with a big punch. A pitch shot to the smallest green on the course. The green slopes severely, and bunkers catch shots that are short or long. Chipping and putting will be difficult on this hole.

Hole 3
PAR 4 • 428 YDS
The third is an unusual hole. We really didn't do anything to it. Take the tee shot as far down the hill as you'd like, setting up a pitch across the barranca to a natural greensite. The strategy off the tee will vary depending on hole location.

Hole 4
PAR 4 • 500 YDS
This is a golf hole, one of the toughest we've done. The hole plays into the prevailing wind. A low-profile green makes depth perception difficult. Cross-bunkers about 100 yards short of the green adds to the deception. The green falls away to the left, but taking the safe route to the right leaves a difficult downhill chip.

Hole 5
PAR 4 • 479 YDS
Another long par 4. It was just there. The barranca on the left defines the hole. The approach is slightly uphill, with another deception bunker on the right side. The green sits in a small natural amphitheatre and has great subtle movement.

Hole 6
PAR 3 • 251 YDS
A long one-shotter that is very challenging psychologically because of the length yet plays shorter because of a kick slope short of the gree

Hole 7
PAR 5 • 583 YDS
This is a strategic par 5 where nature really did the work. The "Snow Bunker" necessitates a decision off the tee - carry the bunker for a chance to go for the green in two or play to the left side of it. Those who play aggressively don't have much room for error. The green sits across the barranca that runs the length of the fairway on the right side. It's a small target for a wood or long-iron and a tough target for a wedge as well.

Hole 8
PAR 4 • 311 YDS
A classic short par 4. Big hitters can go for the green off the tee, but if they fail, they'll face an awkward pitch to a small putting surface with dramatic internal contours. There may be some twos here, but there will be some sixes as well.

Hole 9
PAR 4 • 483 YDS
A nice old-fashioned up-and-over hole. The longer you are off the tee, the more you play to a hanging lie. The green runs from left to right, so the left side is the target off the tee.

Hole 10
PAR 4 • 463 YDS
Before ever putting in a green or bunker, this one just felt like golf. Play over and down the hill to a small green. The mountains provide a spectacular backdrop.

Hole 11
PAR 3 • 214 YDS
This hole really evolved during the time we spent here. The tee shot plays over a pond to a green with three distinct segments. Lots of interesting pin positions and setup options.

Hole 12
PAR 4 • 531 YDS
The greensite suggested this hole. It's perfect tabletop plateau that tips down the valley. When a hole requires such minimal alterations, you just have to get your ego out of the way and let it happen.

Hole 13
PAR 4 • 405 YDS
A spine runs along the entire length of this hole, and it defines both the tee shot and the approach. There's a certain randomness to the tee shot that gives it a lot of charm. The golfer is drawn toward the left side, but the tee shot to the right provides a better angle.

Hole 14
PAR 4 • 329 YDS
Another short-4. Appears downhill from the tee, tempting bombers to go long, but it's really level. The boomerang green wraps around a bunker. It will be a tricky pitch from the opposite side. This hole kicks off an exciting finish, where almost anything can happen.

Hole 15
PAR 5 • 595 YDS
A reachable par 5 with a blind tee shot over the hill. Water comes into play here, with a stream crossing in front of the green. All kinds of strategies and options. It's got trees, water, vistas, elevation changes. Fun and pivotal.

Hole 16
PAR 5 • 552 YDS
What an exciting hole. All kinds of things can happen here. Pick your poison off the tee. The smaller and narrower right fairway provides a green light for the second shot. The left fairway is more forgiving, but reduces the chance to go for the green in two. The creek that snakes up the middle is a problem on every shot.

Hole 17
PAR 3 • 209 YDS
If you can't see a golf hole here, you're in the wrong business. The green is a natural peninsula, with water in the front and a dry wash in the back. There is a generous bailout area to the right, but that won't be good enough in close matches.

Hole 18
PAR 4 • 464 YDS
When we walked the property for the first time, we got lucky. The final three holes were right there in front of us. This is a big finishing hole, and you need to pay close attention to the bunkers at the inside corner of the turn to get the most direct line.
